چکیده
This paper presents a thorough analysis of direct microwave heating as sintering process ceramic materials. It questions why susceptor-assisted is used in most experimental works, although coupling preferable for taking advantage the possible beneficial effects field on phenomena. issue was investigated by conducting both experiments and numerical simulations. The consisted alumina yttria doped zirconia powder samples 2.45 GHz resonant cavity with automatic thermal monitoring, whereas simulations coupled electromagnetics, transfer sample deformation. Alumina are widely materials they exhibit different behaviours (transparent absorbent, respectively), which representative influence insulating material discussed considering cell designs. very low capacity made its difficult. therefore necessary to apply strong electric heat it. situation promoted absorption energy other elements such material, leading instabilities degradation insulation cell. In case zirconia, properties change abruptly increasing temperature. poorly absorbent at temperature, highly intermediate temperature it finally becomes reflective end process. consequences this behaviour (i) difficult control (ii) propensity form damaging hot spots (iii) impossibility reach high temperatures without forming plasma. Therefore, study showed that not suitable reliable homogeneous classical ceramics. explains time preferred.

Microwave Sintering of Thermistor Ceramics
Microwave sintering is a new sintering technology developed in the middle to late period of the 1980’s, which is characterized by fast densification for ceramic materials[1]. In recent years, microwave heating has been well employed in the field of sintering and joining of ceramics as a result of its advantages against conventional methods. These ceramic materials include oxides, mixed oxides, ...

For more than one decade layer manufacturing technologies assist the development of new products. Due to a layer-wise build-up of a three-dimensional geometry, nearly every complex design is producible in a short period of time. Selective Laser Sintering is a powderbased technique to produce plastic prototypes (Rapid Prototyping) or metal mould inserts (Rapid Tooling). The laser sintering of ce...

Each tooth was then placed upon the reticulated zirconia in the thermal containment box and the technique of Microwave Hybrid Heating (MHH) was applied. The temperature measurements were taken every two minutes. We attempted to sinter the teeth in the microwave furnace with both fast and gradual heating rate (per minute) by manipulating the power rate. The power was increased gradually for few ...

The results of a study of ultra-rapid (flash) sintering of oxide ceramic materials under microwave heating with high absorbed power per unit volume of material (10-500 W/cm³) are presented. Ceramic samples of various compositions-Al₂O₃; Y₂O₃; MgAl₂O₄; and Yb(LaO)₂O₃-were sintered using a 24 GHz gyrotron system to a density above 0.98-0.99 of the theoretical value in 0.5-5 min without isothermal...

Sintering with low frequency rf power (-50 M H z ) is a new technique with unique capabilities that has been used to sinter a variety of ceramic materials, including zirconia-toughened alumina, alumina, silicon carbide, and boron carbide. Processing with low frequencies offers many advantages compared to processing with conventional microwave frequencies (915 MHz and 2.45 GHz). Because of the l...
